Building community

for therapists by therapists.

How often do you end a day of seeing clients feeling isolated, exhausted, and fantasizing of quitting the field altogether?

Do you ever find yourself wishing you had a stronger referral network so that you would worry less about how to get clients and focus on more life giving things? Do you ever daydream about starting a private practice but don’t know where to begin? Or, maybe you’re in private practice but it feels like a slog figuring out how to market, build a client base, and also find time for yourself?

Being a therapist can be such a meaningful experience, but it can also be taxing on our mental, physical, and emotional health.

Most of us didn’t get training in graduate school on how to run a successful business and instead have been piecing together the puzzle on our own. And while most of us have been to countless talks on burnout and self care, many of us struggle to really feel connected, fulfilled, and cared for at the end of the day.

It isn’t surprising that therapists have a high turnover rate, with 32% of therapists leaving the field after 1 to 2 years of practicing

Too many therapists are experiencing isolation and overwhelm when they deserve and need to feel fulfilled and connected.

Individual self care simply isn’t enough on its own. We need one another, we need community, and we need more genuine support for therapists.

While there is no magic pill for burnout or filling fulfilled as a therapist, one thing we know is that meaningful relationships matter more than almost anything else. Whether you’re in private practice or an agency job, we need connection to undo aloneness and experience fulfillment in life.

Therapists in the Wild is a collective of therapists that offers support and community for therapists by therapists.

“I’ve loved attending the therapists in the wild meet ups. It’s so fun and valuable to spend time with others in the same field striving toward similar goals. The meet ups have not only been fun and valuable but inspiring as well. Seeing others work towards and accomplish similar goals has helped me to gain confidence in my own goals of opening my own private practice. I highly recommend attending the therapists in the wild meet ups.”
